Compare project examples

These are examples to help plan a budget, rather than fixed packages. The quote defines what is included. Domains, subscriptions and provider charges are separate unless specified.

Brochure, portfolio or gallery website

Straightforward websites start from £600 with supplied text and design requirements, agreed pages, domain and email configuration, build, publishing and a final review. A larger gallery, content preparation or custom features increase the scope.

Small or larger e-commerce site

Small e-commerce sites start from £2,400. We agree the catalogue, payment and delivery setup, testing and handover in the quote. Larger catalogues, product variants, imports, stock integrations, shipping rules and multiple markets increase the scope and cost.

Portals and member areas

Small portals start from £4,800. A small portal might include customer logins, memberships and document sharing, with users, access rules and features agreed in the quote. Existing platform configuration and a bespoke build involve different work. For a large site example, a fully featured bespoke platform on the scale of The B12 Society has an indicative build budget of £60,000-£120,000. Hosting and ongoing maintenance are quoted separately.

Internal tools and workflows

Quoted individually for a defined process, users, records and handover. Data cleanup, historical imports, integrations and additional workflows can increase the work. We can agree a first version or paid discovery before committing to a wider build.

Services and ongoing support

Charities, community groups and other nonprofits receive an extra 20 percentage points off the full standard service fee, on top of the discounts below. For example, a 10% discount becomes 30%. The displayed nonprofit Google Workspace setup and hosting prices already include this discount. Third-party costs are excluded.

What to expect

What does a website from £600 include?

A straightforward website using clear text and design requirements supplied by you. The scope includes an agreed specification, domain and email configuration, building and publishing the site, and a final review with you to make modifications within the agreed scope.

Mobile-friendly layouts and publishing your supplied privacy and terms content are included. We agree the pages and features in the specification; the price is based on the work involved.

Bespoke platforms need a larger budget

A fully featured bespoke platform on the scale of The B12 Society would need an indicative build budget of £60,000-£120,000, depending on the agreed scope. Plan for at least 5-10 hours of ongoing maintenance each month, with more time where complexity or further development requires it. Hosting and maintenance are quoted around the platform's needs, separately from the build.

The £60 monthly hosting and care plan covers straightforward websites; bespoke platform care is quoted individually.

For a more affordable alternative, explore Muchly One, a shared platform configured around your organisation. We can discuss whether its developing features and availability suit your needs.

Google Search Console and Google Business Profile setup are available together as an optional £300 add-on. This includes sitemap submission and Business Profile setup for eligible businesses that meet customers in person. Accounts stay under your control. You may need to complete Google's verification steps; approval and search rankings are determined by Google.

Email configuration is included, rather than charged again as a separate email setup. Every website needs hosting. My website hosting-only option is £30 per month, including Muchly One Business worth £25/month. Site updates are extra, charged separately. My hosting and care plan is £60 per month, or £48 for nonprofits, covering hosting, security updates and up to 30 minutes of minor changes each month. Suitable hosting you already have or arrange yourself can also be used; setup is likely to be needed, with any additional work assessed and quoted before starting. We agree responsibility for ongoing care when using your hosting. Domains and other provider subscriptions are extra.

Both hosting options include Muchly One and the planned exclusive website content module for editing agreed content. The £30/month option includes Business worth £25/month; the £60/month option includes Standard worth £50/month and up to 30 minutes of minor changes each month. Explore hosting, care and Muchly One for benefits, availability and what you can edit.

What does Google Workspace setup include?

£375, or £300 for nonprofits after the 20% discount. These are one-off setup fees, separate from Google's subscription charges.

Verifying one domain, configuring email, setting up the initial accounts agreed in your quote and handing control over to your organisation. For eligible nonprofits, this also includes help applying and activating Workspace once approved. Existing email and file migration, complex account recovery and larger rollouts are quoted separately.

Google Workspace for Nonprofits is free for eligible, approved organisations, with up to 300 users on new accounts. You can request an increase to 2,000 users through Google support. My fee covers setup assistance for the agreed initial accounts, not setting up every available user. Google determines eligibility and approval, and you may need to supply verification documents. Standard business subscriptions, paid upgrades and other third-party costs are extra.

How do support blocks and monthly partnerships work?

A prepaid block buys time to use on agreed work, booked subject to availability. A monthly commitment reserves recurring capacity with a three-month minimum commitment. A prepaid monthly commitment combines both, doubling the standard discount for your chosen allowance.

Prepaid blocks expire six months after purchase. For monthly partnerships, unused time can roll into the following month, capped at one month's allowance. Rolled-over time is used first and expires at the end of that following month.

Time can cover agreed maintenance, advice, investigation and improvements. Meetings, testing and deployment count towards your allowance. Extra work is agreed before it starts.

We agree the systems covered, schedule, payment dates and notice arrangements in your quote. Work is planned around an agreed schedule. Response expectations are agreed upfront; emergency or round-the-clock support is not included.

What about bespoke work and nonprofit discounts?

Forms, integrations, automation, portals, admin tools and custom applications are quoted after discussing your requirements. Where existing systems need investigation, we can agree a paid discovery stage first.

Nonprofits receive an extra 20 percentage points off the full standard service fee. For example, a 10% time discount becomes 30% for nonprofits. Eligibility is agreed before quoting.

The nonprofit discount includes my website hosting and care plan, reducing it to £48 per month. Domains, software subscriptions and other third-party charges are excluded.
